Who likes and dislikes them .

To me they are a nusisance like weeds in gardens I try to keep them out of my garden.

One of gardens I look after adores them and they keep self seeding.

Be interested to hear your thoughts.

    Aaargh.... Nigella a weed? (faints)

The only things I qualify as weeds are those that on top of being unwanted are also difficult to eradicate. Nigella, for example, while growing in all sorts of places where it was never meant to go, comes up with a pull, and not a problem. Therefore no weed for me. I grow it lovingly, savingmy own seeds.

In Italy I never saw a meconopsis in my life. If I came across one I would probably pot it in a rare Ming vase and shut it in a greenhouse watched day and night by fierce dogs. May be in CHina they grow dandelions in guarded greenhouses.

Familiarity can make a weed of anything I guess. But still, nigella! ;)

Love in a mist is also lovely and I like Meconopsis but can't grow them down here as I havn't got the right conditions for them:rolleyes:

I quite like Nigella, she's very good in the kitchen.;)

I'm no help on this one, as I considered them a bonus in my garden...sorry.

They attract bees, take up very little soil and are beautiful to look at.
