    Evening, folk. :)

I have two Yuccas, both in pots .... one on a stick as I call it, had it for several years and one not on a stick bought a year or so ago. Both have pale leaves and the one on the stick has a split in the stick. Being in pots they are in a substrata/compost.

Yuccas here are very healthy but are in the ground .. and we are red clay which I assume is rich in iron. Do I need to add iron to mine ????

    Thanks in advaance.

It could just be nitrogen, I dont think they need a particuly rich soil but pot growing of something that is large shrub or a tree, can really only be a tempory thing.

Think I'd just try feeding fairly heavily with a high nitrogen feed containing trace elements.

Thanks, pete ... I have a bucket of strong coffee ground solution ready for the Bruggie, Cestrum, Iochroma and others to do tomorrow so the Yuccas will get some also ... it's high in nitrogen. :thumb:

I didn't know it contained nitrogen.
I thought it was acid though.

There's lots of links of the benefits of coffee grounds in the home and garden ... here is one ....

Apparently they are excellent for lawns, wormeries and compost heaps.

My roses have improved drastically since using them.

We (we'll t'other half) uses a Krupps so I have a scoop of grounds a day I collect and then make up a solution. Starbucks and other coffee houses/cafes also give their grounds away for such purposes.
