Did a little bit of gardening yesterday at my parents' - cut the grass, took some cuttings from the Camellia, tied the tomato plants in - and found this little guy

Was running around the flower beds, unable to fly - so I've put him in the birdhouse as we live near quite a lot of cats. I believe it's a baby Robin? It's free to leave whenever it's ready, but it just sits on the hole of the birdhouse (I've taken it down from the wall so it doesn't fall far if it tries to fly)

I also found a very similar looking dead bird earlier on in the day, so I'm guessing either a cat found them or they've been trapped in the garden for some time?

Any advice on what to feed him is appreciated, I Tweeted RSPB but not sure what they could do?

    Kyle

I hope the bird box you put him/her in was close to where you found him/her. The parents will be aware of where their chicks are but if you have moved it far away, that is not good. It is still dependent on it's parents. I can't really tell what species it is from this picture

I'm sure they're aware of their dead one, too.

Why would I be so stupid to move the baby bird from where I found it?

          Worms.

Soak a piece of ground with soapy water. They jump up. Wash them. Feed him.

Eh? no need to be aggressive. You made no mention of a dead one in your earlier post; nor did you say how far away from where you found it the bird box was. Only trying to be helpful.
