    Hi Dorsetmike and welcome to GC.

    If roses are your thing, we have Liz and Fran on hand who, to me, are the two "specialists", but there are others who also know their roses!

    We have two photography competitions every month which may interest you.

    We have a young lad, Boygardener, who is madly in love with railways and as for worms ... :eek:

    Enjoy the forum and glad you joined.

    Hi Diz and LOL, thanks for the welcome, I have loads of pics, but all hosted on sites other than Photobucket.
    As a sample you could look at
    http://www.mike-boydon.fotopic.net/c397295.html
    taken at the National old rose collection gardens at Mottisfont abbey, near Romsey in Hampshire. (click on the thumbnails for larger pix)
    We go every year, only really worth going in June though being all the old varieties.
    With the recent warm weather maybe late May will bi good too. I already have Complicata and Maidens Blush in bud, and some more modern ones have been out since mid april!
    Cheers MIKE

    Hi Dorsetmike..I see you are interested in restored railways.Have you visited The GWR at Toddington in Gloucestershire? They are rebuilding the line from Honeybourne to Cheltenham race course. It's a fantastic route and I hope I'll see it completed! :D

    Thanks for all the welcomes;
    @ Pip, shall we say active when it suits me?
    @ Pal, I tend to prefer Ex Southern railway lines as that's what I grew up with, like train spotting from my school desk, we looked out over the sports field to the Bournemouth > Weymouth main line, latter half of the 1940s.
    Cheers MIKE
