Yey, they flowered!!!

    I've never grown roses before and i felt i had to post a picture and share this beautiful flower with you all, as i am chuffed to bits with it! It's a morning jewel, smells gorgeous too!

    Any hints and tips would be greatly appreciated as i want to maintain the health of it.

    Well done P.o.s. I know how you feel .I have got about 30 rose bushes at work and no idea what they are :rolleyes: but some are starting to flower Its a great feeling isinit. :D :D :D

    Absolutley! [​IMG] and there are soooo many more buds waiting to flower. Unfortunatley the rain came down heavily over night and now a lot of the flowers are a bit battered. Damn that rain [​IMG]

    P.O.S. I could be wrong (if so some one tell me quick) but when roses start to bloom you should give them a good feed of phosphorous and potash fertilizer to encourage repeat flowering and keep them well watered I used a potato fertilizer as it was low in nitrogen

    I wish i could Hornbeam! if only ey? actually its done the garden a world of good. I just feel sorry for the ickle flowers as they do look a tad battered.
    Im sure you will get some rain soon hornbeam. We do live in England after all!!! hee hee

    Nice one for the advice Beefy on what to do now there flowering. I'll try that.
    My mum gave me some fab food for the rose and i have to say, since i've fed it, my word, it's shot up something cronic!
    cant for the life of me remember what it is called but i will be sure to let you know my friend. [​IMG]

    Ill take some pics tomorrow and post when I come home from work. Got some nice orangey yellow ones a nice yellow and what I call an old fashioned red out at the moment and lots more (hopefully) to come. Adios amigo :D :D

    don't forget to dead-head, PoS - that'll help to encourage repeat flowering too, assuming it is a repeat-flowerer, that is! Expect it is! :D

    Best of all there are a lot more to come and I have no idea what colours they will be :D :confused:
