I've been harping on about this so I thought I ougt to post some pics! The old patio was very small & done in yellow coloured flags,

We dug out a large area & filled it with hardcore & a layer of sand, building up a sleeper wall around the front and right hand edge to make up the levels as the garden falls away.

We used 'random' yorkstone flags which were taken up from the cellar in the office when we had it fitted out (kudos for recycling! :D ). We had to do quite a lot of cutting to get the random effect. It was a lot of hard work and very time consuming but the final result was well worth it! Anyway on to the pics...

(Im the young sprog in the pics!)

    Laying the final piece!

Oops. Sorry, wrong thread. Thought it said Yorkshire pudding. (Looking at the last picture, it may do).

Actually Andy, very nice. Love the random flags. If you want to come and re-lay my patio the same way I'll give you Ã?£10 (I'm nothing, if not generous). [IMG] :D

    Lovely job there Andy.

Come on own up who did the most work you or the other guy?

Looks like 'he' did the hard work and you just made sure it was level! :D

No really great job Andy and everyone can see you're really pleased as punch with the end result which is how it should be.

So any other plans for another project?

Thanks for all your comments, nice to see people like my work!

you noticed my pots! :D Its not actually my house it's my fiance's parents. 'the other guy' (father in law to be!) did a lot of work but only as much as me, were both shattered!

We do have plenty more plans as its a new garden really, this weekend is raised vegetable bed building from logs, digging out a fruit patch and maybe extending the yorkstone flags further round to the garage, I cant see the light at the end of the tunnel, when will it end?!!

Sarra, you should get some glasses! Im not suprised your frogs cant read! :D I did have some yorkshire puds after this and they were yum scrumptious! And I dont think i'll be doing any more patios anytime soon, not for no amount of money!!!

Roders the windows are actually PVC, its a new house so must be something new they are doing, I like it too!

Morning AndyK, nice to meet you. [IMG] The patio looks lovely and what a bonus getting them from the office cellar!

Do you help out with the pots, or are you sticking to the office windowsill still?

Good luck for the weekend weather Andy...it seems your father-in-law-to-be has struck gold with you and as you've only just started there will be plenty more jobs you will be able to help him out with...your good lady may well be a gardening widow before she's a bride that's unless she likes gardening too! :D
