I'm not writing this to criticise what you have said but to just explain what PC means. I see nothing wrong in what you said and was making a good humoured comment about it :love30: :heehee:

PC stands for 'Politically Correct'. You called your postie a post person therefore not being sexist :D.

A definition of PC is "Conforming to a belief that language and practices which could offend political sensibilities (as in matters of sex or race) should be eliminated"

For some people it has become a way of speaking without realising the origin of that way. For others it has become a symbol of the "Nanny State".

This is a link to the Urban Dictionary (a USA organisation) comments about it.
      Urban Dictionary: politically correct

There was nothing wrong, originally, with trying to make sure that the spoken word didn't offend but here in Britain it has been taken too far. e.g. we were told that a blackboard couldn't be called what it has been known as for generations but had to be called a chalk board. To me it is a board that is black - where's the problem?

When it gets taken too far I just poke fun at it.

I am on many committees and when the chairman of one of them retired a woman took over. She was offended when someone called her 'Madam Chairman' (which shows that he recognised the title of chairman as being the job definition and attempted to recognise her female designation). The man apologised and called her chairwoman.

She refused to accept that term as well because it showed a sexual discrimination and said that she should be called 'Chair'. I then butted in and said that I would call her 'Chair' when she could demonstrate that she had four legs. I continued to call her Chairman for the next five years - and we became good friends.

              How beautiful!

I have an outside light right over my letter box and one year I hung a basket on it. A few weeks later I noticed I kept getting my post from my neighbours so I stopped the postman and asked him what was up. He told me the basket was always full of bees and he was scared of stinging insects!

So I hung it elsewhere and normal service was resumed!

The flowers are plan simple impatients. The container is a deep green pot with holes along the sides, where I tucked in the plants. When they are all gone in November and I clean out the pot, will try to remember to put a pic up here of the empty pot. I also have a couple of jugs of water hidden behind the tree to water it, so I don't have to walk the long drive everyday with water for it.
