When someone asks for directions and you give them but instead of using in my case churches (seldom) or Pubs (often) as things to look out for you give directions using trees and shrubs as guides to being on the right road.
I honestly have done this quite a few times. I remember someone stopping to ask the way. I told them it was really easy. "Just get to the set of lights opposite the house with the gorgeous Acer Palmatum in it and turn right". The man loked at me as tho I had 3 heads and said "what the hell's an Acer"!:snorky:

When I wrote my book of walks I put in directions such as "Turn left at the big oak tree".

Although I did give other pointers as well. :phew:

When checking your pockets before going on a dog walk you find 42 plant labels (in 3 different packets), 5 permanent marker pens, a Wickes receipt for 280L of compost and only half a small dog biscuit.

You get up for a pee at 1:30 am and think what a good idea it would be to go for a wander around the garden, greenhouse and garage checking temperatures.

You're wandering around a war graves cemetery in northern France, pondering on row after row of headstones, after visiting the grave of a relative who died in the conflict a century earlier.

At which point my daughter expressed her admiration on how immaculately well maintained the cemetery gardens are. She's still in her twenties, but I think she's inherited the gardening bug.

I must admit, that I too was hugely impressed with the upkeep of these sites, they are a huge credit to the staff of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.

You're moving house the day after tomorrow.

You mowed the lawn for the last time just a few days ago.

Yet you find yourself thinking "Maybe it could do with one last cut tomorrow, just for old times sake".

Absolutely. Commonwealth War Cemetaries are immaculate. The German ones are likewise.

Quite right. I actually bought a white phone this time around. I could never find my old black phones as there are too many other black things around the house to camoflage it. Is it any better now? :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

When on checking your tomato seeds you discover you have seeds for over 60 varieties, some with use by dates that expired over a decade ago, but all carefully saved 'just in case'.

When you walk around some new neighborhood, view the gardens and make plans in your mind like "hmm, I would put roses to that corner and what about some herb garden to thereā€¦"
