My 101 year old next door is now in hospital.
She has two false hips and she managed to disloge one this afternoon while crossing her legs .
This is her second visit to the hospital today!
She was there this morning for 3 hours to have a review on a cancerous growth she has which now requires radio therapy everyday for a week.
She managed to have her guiness and packet of crisps for dinner before she crossed her legs..
Robert was shouted for and off I went with my first aid head on.
I have to say what a wonderful job the first responder and the ambulance guys did during this crisis.
Ok we had to wait awhile for the ambulance, but that time allowed the drugs to kick in and get her nicely settled before the truma of moving her onto wheels to get her to the ambulance.

Oh poor old soul - hope she gets better quick. She sounds like she is a tough old thing though, its hard to imagine dislocating your hip just by crossing your legs.

    update at 14:20
An attempt was made to re position her hips yesterday evening, but because of the pain they had to stop.
She was admitted to a ward and about right now she is under a general so they can try and get it all back in place. Hopefully without surgery.
She has outlived all her brothers and sister. There is a niece lives nearby and she is over 80! and a bit frail herself. The niece has a son and he suffered a real nasty and now has shattered bones in his hips.
Theres another somewhere near and he is 86, ex RAF bomber command with loads of trips over Germany during the second war and now has that nasty bug thats sweeping the country and cant get out the house.
    I tell you good folk...
Be very thankful for what you got, because for sure theres somebody out there far worse off than you.
    Update going later
    Robert

Lucky lady and lucky to have you as her guardian angel.

I know what you mean....I always try to count my blessing when I feel like I want to kick various people in painful places :gnthb:

And that nasty bug that is sweeping the country is pretty pretty bad. My Ma has been poorly now since the beginning of October and is still pretty bad. I'm weary of waking up 3 to 4 times in the night just to see if her bedroom light is on and wondering if she is OK (I can see her house from my house) took her to the Doc, yet again, for more help with antibiotics and yet another inhaler. this was all after my first week back at work after my own painful adventure.

The straw that broke the camel's back

got home on Friday, had a bawl and then told myself to get on with it.....there are people in worse situations then me or Ma and glass of two fo wine helped. Back to my smilling self with the 'bring it on' attitude.

    Good news..
Celia is now back home and full of beans..
Spotted yesterday strolling up and down the road excercising.
She is now looking towards the removal of a cancerous growth on her nose.
An amazing lady at 101 years.

That is good news Robert. It didn't take her long to bounce back, she certainly has the right attitude and looks after herself by exercising - like you say really is amazing.
