First a bit of history - my wife planted a few cucumber seeds (indoors) a few months ago - they were growing very well until the hardening off process was started. Unfortunately a lot of the leaves curled and turned brown and a few plants died. We managed to save a handful but they were fairly stunted.

I took one under my wing - this one's leaves are less than two inches in diameter and it also has some small flower buds forming, but as of the past few days the leaves are starting to yellow at the edges. Can anyone think why this may be? I'm currently gently hardening it off so I feel this process may be the cause.

Cucumbers are very fussy when young, it could be anything from overwatering, underwatering, too cold, too hot, wind burn etc. My guess is cold. Where are you located? It would help to put that in your profile. Here in Surrey it's still too cold to be hardening off cucumbers, I'd keep them indoors until the weather improves.

I'm in south west Wales. We had a pretty cool Spring which damaged the plants initially but lately it's been warmer. When hardening them off I've left them in the shade but it does get pretty breezy around here. I'm sure that I'm not over or under-watering them. Will keep them inside for another few weeks then.

      Will also update my profile.

      Thanks.

        What variety are they?
Are they outdoor or greenhouse types?

Oh well carry on with the hardening off.
Just because a few leaves look yellow it doesn't mean disaster.;)

This is true, but if I see something "amiss", and bearing in mind my lack of gardening skills, I like to ask the experts to see if I can/should fix the perceived "problem". :)

I kicked everybody "out of the nest" a week or so ago. My cucumbers too have a little yellowing. I told them to suck it up!

I do hope they survive but I consider them to be on the low side of the plant pecking order...

Good luck with yours. I'm sure yours will perk up, grow more leaves and feed you :)

Thanks, I'll post here if there is any great change (for good or bad).

Good luck with yours too. :)
