IMG_6768.jpeg IMG_6767.jpeg My young tree (planted this winter 2023) started sprouting some lovely lime green shoots in early spring, however the past few weeks I have noticed yellowing of the leaves and a complete reduction in growth/new shoots. Can anyone please help?

Well it should be yellow, but must admit it isn't growing away very strongly.
It almost looks like the end has been cut or broken off the stem.

The main trunk was cut back I’m assuming prior to delivery, it was a whip on arrival. Can’t imagine why its growth is so weak, everything around it is doing well

A quick update, the tree has done really well the past couple of months ! I was worried about green/black fly and noticed a couple of ants creeping around the trunk and base. I taped the trunk with brown sticky tape, sprayed the leaves with a neem oil/soapy water spray a few times and gave it a helping of all purpose fertiliser once every 4-6 weeks. It has also a good watering during the dry spells.

Hopefully nothing more to worry about going forward :phew:
