    Hey everyone

I am currently doing some research at the University of Nottingham and could really use your help by filling out a short on-line questionnaire

My thesis is examining the barriers to domestic solar photovoltaic uptake here in the UK

This survey takes less than 5 minutes to complete and you do not need any prior knowledge of solar PV panels to take part:

It would help my research tremendously if you all took part,

    Many thanks

    Dave

All done Dave. Hope it goes well.

As a physicist I am very aware of the danger of global warming. But until we have population control - what is the point of reducing our carbon footprint only for it to be overwhelmed by more people.

Done, Dave (although I did ignore the question about income I'm afraid - don't agree with that one) - good luck with your work

Funny, I had a phone call about this yesterday. This may have a bearing on your research.

My roof is corrugated cement asbestos sheeting (safe while it is not messed with) . The building is not capable of being brought up to standard. The building will have to be demolished and replaced by the next owner.

I think that is enough reason for not installing.

Done - we are considering solar powered lighting for a new garage/shed being built later this year.

I also agree with Peter about population control though - too many of us on the planet to begin with...but that's the elephant in the room no one wants to talk about...

I didn't realise population control involved elephants. That's obviously where I've been going wrong.:hehe:

where would solar panels be installed on a castle without damaging the look?
    Just curious...

That looks like my avatar pic! :skp:

Actually, Arundel Castle (in the avatar pic) has a long, long roof over the Great Hall that would take solar panels with little or no spoiling of the general appearance. Exactly where Clare highlighted 'extra large solar panel' on her enhancement...although lying flat on the roof, naturally...

Lovely, ClaraLou, thank you for the picture!
Sussexgardener, I thought it was your castle...you let me down, now!
I have even been to Arundel some decades ago and I can't even recognize the castle!

I was in Edinburgh last week - but it could have been any city.
Every building was floodlit and every office block had the lights on all night to make it look good with not a soul in the building.
What good would my wee low energy bulbs do against that - but I'll have a look at the survey.

Well there you go - the survey is closed. Maybe they have the answers they want.
