Just curious..... if you had to choose a new username that was a plant, what would it be, and why? I would choose Larkspur. I like birds, the colour blue, and I can be a bit spikey at time (I'm sure my husband would confirm this). Also... too much of me can make you feel very unwell :roflol:

Possibly sea holly, Eryngium. A bit spikey and useless, and can be slow to establish, but it sticks around, and is a bluey-purple colour, and also loves the seaside!

Like you @toppington sea holly is not useless at all, but a lovely addition to the environment. How are you allotment plans going?

That's because you are extra smart :blue thumb:.

Having googled strongylodons, what qualities would you see as having in common, apart from being breathtakingly beautiful...! Full disclosure here: I thought a strongylodon was some kind of dinosaur

Sadly not well! I have caught the flu and the weather is dire so haven't made it up there since I got it yet (end of last week). Hopefully soon though! :)

Got some garlic in small pots ready to go in whenever I go up there! Need to start planning and working out how much space things take up! :)

Ooh-er, how to identify with just one plant? I don't think I can manage that so will just have to go for one that I love, and that also has a nice-sounding name. Vinca: that's a periwinkle, but Periwinkle sounds a little quaint as a user name.

Or I have a Victorian gardening book which has some lovely lists of very glamorously and euphoniously named varieties of roses, dahlias, fuchsias etc. One of those would be fun!

@Clare G, vinca is a lovely plant, and the name suggests strength. However, I definitely think one of the names in your Victorian gardening book would be perfect for you. Something elegant, understated and unique. And of course Ken would need to have a name too....!
