I just took this pic of a new flower coming..You can see the dead stalk of the flower that finished weeks ago.
I've never had one this late before.

Thats nice..I think things are strange this year i had a lovely poppy appear this week when all the others are long gone..I suppose we are still at least 8 weeks from a frost so you should get some joy from your flower..

You grow some odd yuccas Nick. :D
Didn't something strange happen when one flowered before?
That looks like a small flower spike thats coming from no where special, looks unusual to me. Although its not late for flowering of yuccas, my aloifolia is just starting to form a spike, hope it makes it before the frost.

Not this time, its seven feet high, its one of the tree like ones that are a bit dodgy in the UK, but the earlier heat seems to have brought it into flower. [IMG]

Marley, do you know what yucca that is that you have there, it looks slightly different to me. Does it have white teeth running down the edges of the leaves?
Or is that just my eyes, playing tricks.
    :D

 I don't think it has Pete... Just looked at the photo again... I am pretty certain it is the photo, probably due to too much light. It is too dark really now to see properly up there. So will check it out tomorrow & get another photo maybe. I will ask my friend again what sort it is as I would like to know as well. Seems he only has to hear it once & he remembers.... Me, on the other hand,,, that's a different story.
