Yuck - whats this?

I am experimenting and are sowing the same seeds in different ways. For instance, butternut squash direct into a large container, into plastic modules and into toilet roll tubes that can be planted as well. Below I a picture of some weird looking stiff on my loo roll butternut squash. What is it?

Are you growing pasta shells? (sorry!)

 

Fungus isn't good? Do I need to scrap the seedling, they are quite well established or can I continue with them, but not plant the toilet roll tube? If it isn't slug its something else.

 

Does look a little pasta like.

 

I used to start Parsnips using toilet roll cores, and quite often they (the cores) would get mould or fungus. Nothing to worry about.

I think it's some sort of peziza cup fungus, nothing to worry about.
