Tying a hedge back
I put my head into hedge, only to be confronted with a pair of robins flying back and forth along the length of it. Scary at close range. So the pruning will have to wait.

What to plant?
I grow Catalpa here @Butterfly6, quite a feature. I pollarded mine for the first time last year, after ten years, the leaves were definitely larger
