    Can my compost be saved?

I don't have a veg patch only have a standard green compost bin. I will keep adding household bits to it and when I have help, we can tip everything out and mix it up. No rush though!

Cow Manure; How old is old enough ?

Manure is ready when you can't see any of the original stuff, it should resemble a dark crumbly material. If you can still see straw in it then its not ready.

Fungus - bad compost? Or something I've done wrong?

As it wasn't the usual white stuff, but instead a "toad stool", I thought it best to check out. That news story probably wasn't the best information to first read.

    Fertilizers ?

I've always used tomato fertilizer on mine, a weak solution on every 2nd watering. Not sure if this is best but the only problem i've had so far is having more cucumbers than i can use/give away!
