    Straw in Compost Bin?

    Thanks Kandyfloss, I just looked and its a very good site. I have just got a new compost bin and have only this week turned out the old one into the new one to get some air in it.

    Ohhh! don't bin it, sieve it! You'll get all the root out in one go and even if tiny pieces do get through they are easily dealt with if you let it rest a few weeks then re-sieve before putting on...
