Don't forget that raised beds lose nutrients more than open soil. You will need to feed during the growing season and refresh the compost pretty much every year, especially if you are growing...

Just the compost they where grown in went into the new bed Alice, the spuds will be eaten. Only once or twice have I had spuds growing in the compost heap, but not from peelings..from a rotten...

I'll echo the previous suggestions but also suggest you try to talk to some of your experienced local growers - they'll know what works best in your particular location and climate.

Just pick small bunches, the amount you usualy use.wrap them separately in cling film.put in a frezzer bag .take out one when you need it.same with parsley,hit on a boardwhile stiff ,they break in...

as has been said give it a go. Steer awsy fom sun lovers tomatoes cucumbers squashes etc potatoes and brassicas should do well with a bit of effort working the soil. Currants and rhubarb dont need...
