I believe it's around this time of year that you can plant a few spuds in the tunnel ready for christmas. This is my first year in the tunnel, not sure if I should add anything to the soil to aid there growth.Russ.

I don't know but I keep trying stuff on it that does not render the vegetable uneatable. I thought the other day....I have some tea tree oil, if I dilute that ...like 5 drops to a litre of water and then spray what is left of my veg.....I wonder if that would help. I will try that to-night...

My runner beans have only just started to flower. I sowed them at the usual time. Why are they so late? The slugs and snails haven't helped, and the birds have also been picking off the flowers, but by now I've usually picked several crops.

I presume you mean runners? Just stick them into the ground and they will root. Once they have rooted sever the runner from the main plant and just let it do its thing!
