Trying to grow veg for the first time

The brine does draw the water out of the shallots. My pickled shallots seem to have a reputation for flavour and crispness, so I can't see any reason to change

I agree David...I only used to grow those and will do again next year when my beds are up and running.Very tasty, uniform size and rarely did I get any blown one's, good cropper as well. Unless...
