Thanks guys well I have stabbed various holes in the bottom of the bag and given them a feed so fingers crossed! Next year I'll deffo do them in pots.Cheers EGW x

Well they're poking out the roof vents at this point, so yes I do chop off at the top to stop things getting too tangled etc (this weekend probably). Otherwise I leave pretty much alone and...

Damage, shallots go in on the shortest day and out on the longest. Garlic goes in in September and out in August.:thumb::D And onion seed is traditionally sown on Boxing Day.
