Kriss, are they in pots big enough? You could pot on to help grow them. They are hardy plants and I would plant out in spring. Group them together to make a show for later this summer.....you could plunge the pots in the ground too

Yes, but some one made money by doing it, not cheap with port fee's, demurrage (if not unloaded on time etc) labour and haulage, so some one knew how to make it pay but it don't happern now that i know of

As Verdun recommends, Harry, plant it as deep as you can in the pot, but don't forget to keep the compost damp and don't let it dry out.

We use tomato food on pots and baskets and home made compost (with some horse manure dug into it) on the rest of the garden.

I'm going to contact both companies on Monday and find out more about it. I collect around 2-3 tonnes of Yew clippings alone between July and September so seems a waste to take them to the tip or compost them in my yard when they can be put to better use.
