Are my new laurels in big trouble
Possibly just a bit of shock then and they'll recover. Can take a while however, my laurels took forever to look good after an accidental heavy trim...

Bamboo in pots
Clumping is a relative term! With bamboo clumping can mean 4x4m so still a pretty big plant. Mine are in pots but the phyllostachys has never thrived

Acer now in the sun
Mine here grows in pretty much full sun and looks very similar to yours but it does have full wind protection with a hedge and tree either side. I think that will be a bigger problem for yours...

Westland smart ground cover review

Cordyalis flexuosa looks an interesting plant. Lily of the valley looks similar. I could make use of one or other of these in amongst my shade loving evergreens.G.

Unsung heroes..
Now I know Linaria purpurea is meant to be a "weed" and it sprouts up everywhere if you let it but I just love it. It's such a good bee plant too and I like it's mini snapdragon like flowers. ...
