They are certainly hardy enough to survive winter in a greenhouse, and if they like the position they grow like other more common ipomoeas.They are said to be much hardier than the normal ones. This site has a picture and brief description, just put 'ipomoea indica' in the search...

I like Sedum acre but it is not as showy as that picture :eek: It sometimes takes a bit of experimenting with what works well for your wall but it is worth it.

I saw a program called City Gardiner on the televison a couple of years ago, in which it was said that the the common bramble and Buddleia were the two most tenacious of all British plants. ie it is virtually impossible to kill them.

Gilly - I sow everything in seed trays then transfer to small pots. Even the things that do not like to be transplanted. I just turn the seed packet picture towards the seeds. This prevents the seeds reading the instructions and getting stroppy. Seems to work. :D

Hi, I leave all my cannas out and ismene and 2 hardy hedychiums, all winter and all have loads of shoots on them already. My hardy gingers are tara and forestii. 3 other gingers I've got I had them in cold greenhouse and they have sprouted too!! :D

I had one about 20 years ago gave my sister a cutting and hers is now huge with big trunk. As for mine over the years I'm left with 3 cuttings from original plant, the rest just seemed to fall over and break or went funny! hope I get these to be huge like my sisters!!!

Hi Daiseybelle, I bought some Carmel blue last year and love it, its a bush fuchsia looks great in pots and easy to propergate. Go for it
