The density of soil is about 1.3 grams/cc. So a cubic meter will weigh 1.3 tonnes. You can calculate the volume you require - as the area in square meters times height in meters. Then multiply this by 1.3 to get the weight in tonnes.

Looking good! I thought April was supposed to be showery, but it hasn't rained here since March. Water butt was empty two weeks ago - I wonder if we'll get a wet May like last year.

Hi mowgley,I've got three in a pot growing up a wigwam and to help them start I got some twigs and gardeners twine and wrapped them round the wigwam canes so the sweetpeas had something to grab at the start sort of like reaching the first floor! Now they are shooting up and wrapping round...

I think I will once I've sorted out the bed properly. I think garden thefts has quite a high record of incidences in the last few years. I have two pad bolts on the garden gate though so I have a little bit of protection.
