can I still start seeds of in pots inside
I'll second that azadaman. Best get a small area beefed up with well rotted stuff. I have just dug in the contents of one of my composters. Good stuff!

Invest in a few packets of seed and pull up as many as you can of the ones you don't like. They will cross pollinate eventually, but they are perennials so the same plants will come up each year...

Echinacea
My Echinacea purpurea is not at all invasive, it is almost too slow to bulk up. Though it will grow easily from seed up in a seed tray.

Root Trainers AGAIN!
I think the idea is that it forces the tap root of the plant lower before it starts to branch, so great for peas and beans - have to say I sis not do very well with the loo role experiment though.
