If you want a long bloomer with daisy-like blooms what about Coriopsis?Certain Campanula and Penstemon species bloom for a long time and are hardy. Likewise Salvia greggii and S.microphylla.

The flowers can be a bit sparse and don't stand up to rain very well, as Pete says and also can be prone to collapse from root diseases.Like Zinnias they need a good Summer. I used to grow a few thousand every year at work and they can look look stunning in a large bed.

Hi all,we have a porch that is north facing. I am looking for suggestions for plants that I can put on the windowsills. The windowsills are pretty small, around 5 1/2 inches deep by 18 inches wide. Looking for something that smells nice, is easy to keep, and doesn't grow taller than 12 inches...

We don't have Dandelions here ... or they are a rarity. You can buy seeds for them however to cultivate as Jack says.

On my Dahlia canes I use plastic drink cups, as eye protectors . They are dark brown so don't look too bad - then again they don't look too good . This was following a tip on here a few years back , put straw in the cups on top off the canes and earwigs will overnight in them , so you can catch...

I have ordered from VM in the past, I ordered 2 Clematis repans at a good price, so I ordered them, this was in March, I hadn't recieved them by July I phoned up and cancelled the order got a full refund, 2 weeks later they arrived result, they were on the small side but with TLC they are ok.
