    Hi John,For a good Spring display how about Aubrieta and Alyssum Saxatile planted to spread along the top and to cascade down them.You could also add Aquilegia, Geraniums and summer flowering...

    Double embryo seeds?

    .....um, I was being thick. When the second lot germinated from my other plant I realised what was going on. They are single embryos with no hypocotyl emerging from the seed, it's just the petiole...

    A question for GC's male members and now you ladies too.....

    Well only just found this thread but I love roses, particularly in the garden where I have a variety but if bought a bunch I think I would prefer about 15 yellow roses. Reminds me of the Irish song.

    What/how to overwinter?

    @pete and @Sheal I only have East and North facing walls, but the North one is a kind of alleyway with the garage one side and a lower wall the other so that could be ok. Thanks for the advice...

    Hi Craig,no don't bother to trim the roots,just wash of all the old soil etc. them just place them in trays,cover roots with compost and keep frost free.

    Anybody grow Deutzia Strawberry Fields in less than full sun?

    The somebody that told you they are slow growing was wrong Silu. :doh:I had a Deutzia many years ago and yes, they do need room and are quick to grow. Crocus confirms this below.....
