I used a survival blanket to line my first light box , they are amazingly cheap on Ebay . I use diamond mylar for lining now, that really does the job well. Look at the price for a survival blanket / tent !!! £0.99 . Premier Inns will never match that !

I've always stuck by the 'Derby Day' rule but this year I actually risked trimming at the beggining of September as well even though it did make me cringe...I'm not risking it again though my nerves won't stand it...Probably an odd question but would Bordeaux mix work on Buxus?

It is a shame that disease is taking so many of our wonderful old trees.. We lost a stand of Larch in the village last year due to disease.. They did clear everything away very thoroughly and burnt the arisings as well in situe so the site was left extremely clean.. Shame they are not doing that...

If you were thinking of a Zantedeschia Lily or arum lily then yes it should be fine as long as it doesn't freeze solid..!The plant in your yellow bowl looks like Arrowhead, a marginal plant..

Yes from seed @val, probably back in the mid to late 80s. Worth it because you get a small caudex form from very early on.They could have been much bigger by now but pot size has held them back. If I go any bigger pot wise I wont be able to lift them in and out the greenhouse.Lesser plants...

Welcome to GC Claire. It looks like water logging to me and I would never put fertiliser down on a first year lawn, it needs to establish roots first and the fertiliser is to strong while it is still so young. New grass will find enough nutrients in the soil to see it through it's first...

It has to be the weather - I assume the cold snap back in August did it? This evening, whilst sat in traffic at some lights on a roundabout, I spotted crocuses in bloom in the middle of the roundabout!The sad bit of this is that we might not get blooms next spring as a result?
