Compost filled tubs, winter/spring uses?
I would probably just plant the spent bulbs in a part of the garden and see what appears next year.
(and buy new bulbs for the tubs later next year). Eventually I'll have bulbs everywhere .......

If i root them in compost they just die off, so i root them in water, anytime of year. I cut off any buds that develope, i let them grow some roots then pot them up. Keep moist for a while for them to adjust to the change and i still cut the buds off. But the softer shoots are better to root.

SBK (or stronger?) - please don't judge!
I can relate to your problems as cutting grass with me is too much, everything has to be sitting down to get done. If another project pops up then the other gets left.

My poor Hebe!..
Just a wee update. The Hebe was toast. I left it until way into spring but no signs of life and it had to go. Replaced it with a nice wee Acer.
