Hellebore orientalis has no problems with the winter. I have more than 40 varieties now and all look fantastic.......mind you, we have not had the awful winter everybody else has had. Corydalis Flexuosa too has performed beautifully ...lovely blue flowers over low mounds.

Clearly Nonetheless, I still think I shall hook it up for series link. The most "tropical" I have in my garden right now is gunnera and fatsia (but, I don't think they really count )

You've had a tough time Vince - but just hold on to that thought of growing the biggest onions and tomatoes. I think even without the lose that you have had this continuous bad weather is enough to get anyone down. Lets all look forward to the better gardening weather!
