Morrisons sell some great plants - a lot of them are exactly the same as you would get in garden centres (RHS certified, same labels etc) but a lot cheaper. The problem is that the range can be quite limited and they generally only have one delivery of each type (i.e. when it's gone, it's gone)....

what conditions was your Dacaena growing in your previous house compared to your new one i.e light/shade. It has obviously made a difference. Is it the plain green form or variegated? As Lisa says it may be too late to save it.

try you local Nursery, not the Garden centre, as they really only supply plants and a few sundries, unlike Gardencentres, they sell more sundries now a days than plants, and are usually more expensive. buying on line is ok, but deal with people that you have had recommenations from. depending...

i think you could pot these up for now and keep in cold greenhouse, if only to get every1 involved,dont plant them deep so you can see progress and top them up if necessary .. normally they would be planted whre they are to flower, but this method will prove more interesting

Curling is due to water loss . If they are in open pots you could cover with a plastic bag to retain moisture. They usually pick up quickly, particularly if they had some root when you potted them.

Actually North West is a reasonable direction for a garden to face. It should get a goodly amount of sun and as you say, the frost has gone before the sun gets on it. This is what happens with a North east exposure as you surmise. Plum trees tend to flower early in the year and frost will damage...
