I have an Abutilon Megapotamicum, which has survived 3 years in N Yorks, so should be reasonably hardy with you. It has a red and yellow flower, and flowers over a very long period - 23 weeks last year. It is not that dramatic - but might fit the bill. Mine was �£1.69 at Morrisons.

the other thing that's supposed to spontaneously generate goldfinches is teasels! So I've grown loads from seed, and have lots of nice little teasel plants, just waiting to go in my wilflife garden! If anyone wants some, I'll have some to spare(no cost, obviously!)

Should be, but I prefer fleece, as things can breathe through fleece, but I don't think they can through plastice - think of all those warnings about having plastic bags near kids!

It hasn't put out much green growth I have to say, when I bought it the label said Common White Jasmine, I thought about putting it into a pot just in case it was the soil. It could well be the pink flowered Jasmine you mentioned but it has never flowered so I don't know! :confused:
