True, Growmore always used to look more whitish grey in the past and came in a round granular form. Picture below is the Growmore we used to sell in the past, it was very clean with hardly any dust.

HiI would level off to 4 feet right across till it all catches up with each other ....Remove any grass at the base so the laurel is not competing for food and water ...I would imagine with the irregular growth they haven't been watered regularly during the summer/s as they are only young...

Hi Ricky you was right but the roots was so tightly bound i did carefully try to loosen some but was unable too so I repoted it more or less the way it was the pot i used was big 5 /6 times bigger than the black pot l did it 4 days ago and it seems to be doing well used Westland organic...

Lime takes quite a while to be washed down into the soil. Thats the reason I do it in Autumn. That way, I can be sure its done its job. I'm sure other members could answer your question regarding Spring liming better than I can, as they are more used to the UK climate than I am now.

I've only got one type of tree peony, a yellow one , it self seeds and seems to grow and flower in all aspects .I'm guessing yours didn't like the container, I tend to think they prefer a good root run.
