I can solve the neighbour problem--put a hedge up and send them a bill for half of it--we had a nosey neighbour but he was never nosey again after he got that bill!

It is such a shame. A few years ago a branch came off the huge tree in my ex's drive and wrote my car off. It was a huge branch and the tree looked odd without it

Avocado ( 'Ave several, in fact!)
I had one grown from an avocado stone. We grew it using the cocktail stick method as described earlier. They are lovely looking plants but need warmth so keep them indoors, even in summer - I'd say.
