Hi Kristen, I never remove the foliage on mine, do you think I should be doing. I thought they needed the sunlight for photosynthesis and thereby increasing tuber size? I don`t want to be doing anything not right

Not come across it before, but it looks as if it might be interesting. Pity about it being difficult to propagate, perhaps if it was easy, it would be well known here.

I have a very good plant knowledge of common names and a fair knowledge of latin.Rather emabarasingly i too suffer memory blocks when it comes to on the spot reacll and always cause ammusment as the name usually comes to me a minute later.

On this theme, I also have fuchsia Sarah Brightman. Label doesnt say if it's hardy and a google reveals very little. Does anyone know?

That's an interesting trial Prastio, maybe pumpkins would do better there, you could certainly grow some monster gunnera, though you would soon lose what looks like a pleasant corner as it takes over. It broadens the scope for plant types in a garden to have an area like that, very nice.

I agree with Marley. I think on principle it is better to start most things off in pots. You are in contol.

I never spray ivy, the waxy leaves repel spraying and dead ivy is harder to scrape off.IMO the best method is to cut it off at ground level and pickaxe out the roots, if on a wall, scrape off / pull off the shoots with a stripping knife.

Crassula ovata or jade plant dead easy. chlorophytum comosom or spider plant . Kalanchoe several species will thrive there's about 125 to choose from

Not that I know of JWK cherries and indeed most fruit trees are suceptible to this, it is a wind borne pathogen fransfered by spores so the sooner it can be destroyed by cutting down the affected tree and burning it the better for the surrounding trees.
