What could I make this with?
Ground cover stuff would be good, but I have a lot of perennials that die back in winter that I really like. If I fill the borders with evergreen ground cover, they'll have no space when they do...

Gladioli and Asiatic Lily bulbs - Advice please
I have always planted and left my lily's in the ground over winter and the following year they grow just as good but spread around 20 cm each year just like Phlox paniculata

mail order-can I plant these now?
thanks all. the ferns are biggish plants but most of the others are just plugs. think I will pot them on and eave for week or so until the harsh weather hopefully goes!

Have fun Jack, they are pretty plants, just pull the self seeders out, they are easy to spot. Another plant that compliments them as well as euphorbias, is the purple Heuchera also looks nice...
