Failing that, wait till it flowers then collect the black seeds they germinate dead easy, even when they drop on the ground you will see them poping up everywhere.

They do seem to seed quite readily, and the seedlings do come up. I have them all over the place. But I don't think the seedlings always retain the character of the parent, and they will take a while to make decent-sized plants.

Newbie that sounds pretty bad although I had planted a hundred or so pansy's and primroses (another bargain from B & Q)only the ones in the front garden seem to have done well...the others in the side garden have been eaten!You shouldn't worry too much about your daffs only my little ones...

I would test the pH of the tap water by itself. I wouldn't expect it to be very far from neutral. If it is I would defrost the fridge and use the water from the ice around the freezer. Thats as close to distilled water as you can easily get, without paying for it.pH7 is neutral chemically...

Hello Arroch - the late Christopher Lloyd's bookof Garden Flowers talks about E. Amygloides and says it used to be called E. Robbiae. A spreading 'spurge' which becomes weak at the centre as it 'suckers'. He also says that cutting it back in August helps to sustain a healthy plant.

Thank you S you are right I just had a look at one a two in my area and they wanted loads of money I just want to make an arch, The thin metal ones that I have now are starting to rot, And I thought I could buy 3-4 lenghs and make my own many thanks

Thank you,i guess i have been wasting compost and using too deep a tray to start off,its probably common sense when you know what you are doing.

I had one overwintered it in the g/house last year it did flower again, this winter put it in the p/tunnel I have a little caboos I built in there with a tube heater in, alas a couple of nights the heater couldn't cope with the cold and now its brown bread, the plant that is.

A real gem DP chobart think it may be my favourite to.

Trachelospermum aren`t the fastest growing climbers but stick with it, they are worth it. The Clematis could take over so keep an eye on them. You say you used a general bonemeal based fertiliser, was that bonemeal or fish, blood, and bone? Bonemeal is used to encourage root growth whereas fish,...

Hi Nathan, I put up a row of canes and tied garden twine between them then fastened the sweetpeas to the twine. I don't think the cnes were really long enough thougheven tough they were 5'.

Here's a funny thing years back I caught my mum-in-law putting her bulbs in up-side down I had to follow along after her turning them the right way up...but we did have a good giggle about it and the bulbs did well in the end, funny thing was though shortly afterwards she when to get her eyes...
