Whiley I can see you are keen to get going and you have been given some good advice but why not try a couple of seeds out of each packet make a note of what you do and how you fare it will add a bit of interest until the planting season starts proper.

Every year on the Ascot to Wndsor road the Daffs come early - 2007 was no exception as some were in floweer by the 2oth December. I n fact many of the flower heads are now dead..........Very strange but true..........

A lowish stake should help prevent windrock on most trees although a higher stake on fruit so as to put less stress on the graft.

Well thanks eveyone. strongy yes that is plumeria, I think there are a couple in the shot, they were out there, at the time, for spraying the dreaded RSM. The semperviviums have been on that corragated asbestos roof for at least 40yrs, and its never been struck by lightning, so they work. ...

Email ronseal or look on the ronseal web site and see if the colour you want is available. Some places may not stock it but could perhaps order it. (I have never used it so dont know either way)

Jean this is a recent tree fern thread which might be of interest. As Walnut says they do grow extensive roots when given the opportunity so get it planted but keep it out of the frost while its still in a transit...
