When to prune Hydrangea and floribunda roses
I do what you do Scotcat and take the heads off in spring and give it a prune. My neighbour pruned one of my hydrangeas last Autumn so she could replace and paint the fence and it didn't flower at...

You could have a passion flower but it is semi evergreen, but a fast grower, you could cut it back though and it would come back every year.

There are bluebells and daffodils through in my neighbour's garden!! They are so early I think they may not be planted deep enough, and will prove to be blind, but seeing them has lifted my mood...

Plumbago pruning
I had a plumbago wilmotii which I pruned every march down to about 2 buds from the ground, it probably depends on the type of plumbago you have though.

thanks lol they are really nice may be its because they are in there first year and we hit minus 6 , think they will start growing again come march . i hope so i wanted to train them into trees...

Yup, from seed BM, I dont regard it as a good grower over here. I'm not that well up on them, but I think they can become treelike in the tropics. Mine grow fast but only for a short period each...
Yup, from seed BM, I dont regard it as a good grower over here. I'm not that well up on them, but I think they can become treelike in the tropics. Mine grow fast but only for a short period each year so overall growth is slow, the lower leaves also drop, which can make them a bit leggy.

I,ve had the same problem several times while building my new garden. Leave a pile for just a short time and you are weeding it forever. Solved my problem with half dozen cheap plastic dustbins....
