Thanks for your responses. As far as I can make out, it is loosestrife, and yes, it has been particularly dry in the Fens, no more than a dampening in weeks here in Wisbech.

fragrant clematis- but I cant smell it!!
Have you had any rain recently - some plants need a bit of dampness in the air to bring out the fragrance. I checked up on clematis "flammula Rubromarginata" and again got different info - one...

I too would reccomend waiting for the autumn - but if you really must move them now - then may I suggest that a) give them a good soak before lifting, b) take as much rootball intact as you can,...

Alternative use for a boat
Have your rivers dried up fmay ? It is a great idea and gives you load of planting space. Skunk cabages are great and easy to grow. These are at Beth Chattos (middle of the photo) down the road...

He, he - looks like he's peering at the camera!!!!Frogs don't need water for day to day stuff, only essential for spawning in. They are more than happy in damp shade..... at least he keeps...

It won't grow totally out of control anyway except in damp conditions. Mine has been in a pot for ages and as long as you remember to water it frequently it should be OK. Mine is in full sun as...
