I tried 2 hostas as pond marginals last year and took them out in the autumn and kept them in a bucket each to overwinter, no problem!

I've given all the shrubs around the tree a good prune today. I didn't realise how overgrown and tangled they were. I've also weeded and pulled out loads of smaller things that weren't doing well....

Dead head lupins
If Lupins are dead headed they won't re-seed ...however they can be cut back to the base when the first flowers have faded and you may be get a second later flush of flowers. M-L
