Thanks for that advice - seems logical. Problem is most of the young shoots come up through a lawned area which gets mown every week or so throughout the growing season so they are cut anyway. ...

Trial and error, its the best way to find out what grows best for you. Give anything you like a go, but always apply common sense. Do take notice of what you read, but dont take it as gospel....

Hi BrigidThe instructions on the packet should give you a good start for the particular variety, they are prone to damping off in a cold spell...do you have a propagator/greenhouse?
