Nice story, and with any luck your daughter will not find thunder frightening. My parents told us the same - we used to sit on the front door step counting between the ligntening and thunder, to see how far away the storm was. Fantasia helped the illusion too when it was released.

Know what you mean, Rich (Scott Mackenzie and all that)! As mine was cut back to nearly nothing before it bloomed, I'm lucky on that score ... not straggly at all. The problem I've got is that because it's in the sun till early afternoon the brachts / blooms have faded so may need to move...

I have also recently bought bamboo but a different one to you. I bought if from a specialist nursery and they told me to feed it with a lawn feed (not weed n feed) once a month in the growing season and to put it in a pot at least 18 " square.

:D No BM. No cat scratches, that is how Birch bark often goes. All healthy & normal apparently. I had the tree checked when I saw it the first time... :rolleyes: Now the tree is 30 something & still growing well..!! :D

I suspect they may need a lot of heat - even florist said they did not last long.

Well I have read so much C Lloyd at the moment I feel I have swallowed his books, but he thinks they are so sculptural he grows them in his garden. He also describes vividly his mother cooking it once - which was not a repeatable experience apparently!

Does anyone know how much iodine you would need to add to how much water to metamorhosise the frogs?. I would just leave them.

Got my dragon wing, huge plants they were selling off at local nursery and they look very good in situe - descrete, but sculptural - off for some more tomorrow whilst Mr Waco still away!As to Luxurians - just got to have it - SPECTACULAR!

OK - I've bought my iodine (for tadpoles) so how much do I put in? Any ideas? The pond is about 6footx4foot and about 3foot at the deepest.

Hi fellow gardenersI have four young helleborus, all different and in pots I re-potted them, now three are doing well and the other has one leaf which is going brown :eek: (it only consists of one leaf actually!)Any ideas?Also when should these be planted out Autumn perhaps?Grateful...

That reminds me of that strange Iris, Hornbeam, foetidissima, which grow in the gardens where my apartment is in the IoW.
