I run mine 365days/24hr with 15mins on/off periods - since using a fan in this way I've had much fewer problems with moulds and bugs.

Oh cool now I have had a few visits to Hamilton and surrounding areas. Niagara of course and Toronto but so enjoyed around Hamilton and the people.. A nice place and loved the history..

Just a warning that if you have overwintered plants indoors or germinated seeds indoors remember when you put them out into the greenhouse, or just a sunny position outside, to shade them for a few days. It doesn't take long for them to be damaged, agricultural fleece works a treat. Mention this...

Pete is right, keep it moist but not waterlogged.

For your main season shading, always on the outside where possible as it keep the inside temperature down, internal shading does not, as the heat has go through the glazing.For you seedlings it really sounds like you need to do some easy to fix and remone shading as you will need to protect...

hi.i had 3 parasene big red heaters in my greenhouses years ago all rubbish I was using 4lts a night no good got my old Aladdin 201 202 and 203 heaters all my 3 greenhouses are full of bedding plants.

Certainly would go high on leeward side for gentler airflow. Heat can be problem, but best regulate that with shade net (or anything) but biggest evil can be mildews, moulds & fungii, for which the vent can help, but dont be afraid to whip out several panes of glass.

I usually sow in early to mid April, but bring them on in big pots in our heated porch before I plant out in a polytunnel in mid May. Cucs as far as I remember, don't like temperatures below 10C as it sets them back.
