Crikey, I couldn't agree more.... it's flipping everywhere in my herb patch. My current favourite is The Green Lavender (Lavandula Stoechas Viridis) - the most amazing lemony, piney, lavender...
Crikey, I couldn't agree more.... it's flipping everywhere in my herb patch. My current favourite is The Green Lavender (Lavandula Stoechas Viridis) - the most amazing lemony, piney, lavender smell and green flowers. Not very easy to find though.

Cutting back herbs and Salvia
Thank you everyone, that's really helpful.I'm leaving my salvias until the warmer weather. I have them growing through roses in the rose bed and it really works. I've been brutal with my roses...

herbs in hanging baskets
I think to get the best from your herbs, you'll be a bit limited with a hanging basket. What herbs did you have in mind? Some need more space than others, and they don't all have the same soil...

I tend to think you need to go with what you have.In some ways its easier to heat plants than try to keep them cool in order to grow then. Costs a bit more though.But if its too hot I cant...

I buy the supermarket herbs and have learned a wee trick. Put a couple of milk bottle tops in the bottom of a pot holder. It keeps the plant from sitting in water. The roots tend to come down...

I am growing in bags aswell ,did you put 4" of compost in bottom of bag ,with drainage holes, place 3-4 potatoes on top cover with 3" of compost and then just keep earthing over as the growth...
