We have 3 whippets and I consider my lawn to be in fairly good condition.. but it's hard work. Firstly the dog rocks probably work if they have no other access to water for example ponds..I'm lucky because my partner takes my dogs out before work so they manage to do that first wee and poo out!...

The worms are helping in the long run Pam, aerating and improving the soil. Take takemore02withit's advice. The only thing I would add is if you are using a flymo then rake up and clear away the cuttings, that will reduce their number. :thumb:

I got a load of turf a couple of years ago from my local garden centre - it's delivered once a week and the day before they get the new batch, the older stuff is reduced to £1.00 per roll.

I think it's important to put a layer of new topsoil down first, even if it's only a couple of inches deep. This will ensure you get a level surface to lay the turf on. Well your friend is wasting his time.Glyphosate is the weedkiller you need.But are you sure you need to go to all that length to eastablish a lawn. What's there at the moment.
