The ground needs to consistently be around 10 degrees C for grass seed to germinate. Sow it now and the birds will have it away before it gets chance to germinate. That's if it doesn't rot or simply blow away in the meantime.

I'll give it a trim then with the blades set at their highest setting.

As would cyclamens, fritillarias, and good old daffs. Grass is always very tough to keep going under shade, especially if not maintained vigilantly. There is loads you can do instead though!

Sorry, I can't help you with the lawn specialist. If your lawn is soft to walk on then I wouldn't risk mowing it. We've had a lot of rain down recently and the mower would probably just scalp it. If you do take the chance then raise the blades for a higher cut and that will take the worst off...

Yep, should be fine. My lawn has just has a good rake and I had to reseed a few areas. I'll give it a good feed soon just before some rain so it washes in (obviously not needed if you use a solution feed!)

I think Marley Farley is right - first one is a Honeysuckle. It looks remarkably like one growing further up the garden from which I probably took a cutting!! Can I grow it as a bush type shrub ?? (it's parent plant is a rambling type)
