Sounds a good plan.I tend to feed every couple of months from early spring until september / october.Usually a week or two bettween the iron and the feed.

turfing patches in lawn
For small areas I do as Pro Guard suggests in post #2. To help gremination and to keep the moisture level up, I use small sheets of clear polythene held in place at the corners with golf tees. ...

Badgers digging up the lawn.
my parents had this, they let them have one end of the lawn and fed them, very few holes following that. If you don't fancy that I think the security light suggestion works well!

How bigs the lawn, how often will you mow, and is it level and easily mown - not lots of small curvy edges. How will you get rid of the clippings. Do you want nice stripes

they could be worm casts at this time of year. ona dry day brush them away before mowing, and whatever you do...DON'T KILL THE WORMS. They are great for your lawn!!
