yes the the mesh is put in as the turf is sown to stabalise the soil ..... it suggests you ve lost some of the surface soil though.

Might I suggest a good smattering of compost/other gardens' grass clippings (if you can get hold of it!) just after aeration and before seeding? This will provide a nice environment for the seeds...

I'd personally leave it until the new grass is cuttable; it may look silly for a while but at least you won't damage any of your fragile new grass!

To be honest if he's really serious about a good lawn I would try and at least break up the concrete a little before laying the soil; It's true that enough soil will counteract the problem, but...

My Lawn has a hill in it - help!?
i do a lot of gardening and i ve found quite a few headstones, people buy them and then are not too sure what to do with them, one lady assured me her parents were NOT buried under the flowering...

grass cutting time?
If you have a light-weight flymo type mower, you can do it sooner - I had to do it last week for one person, but I wouldn't use anything heavier, nad you have to have it relatively "un-squishy"...

If you use a product called ROUNDUP then you can replant as soon as the grass is dead. but it will need rotavating, etc.. as the others have said
